A 1922 Chevy from Ryal Miller Chevrolet Company’s first year of operation is featured among the artifacts and photographs chronicling the history of Sioux City’s oldest family-owned dealership.
Ryal Miller Chevrolet Company’s original partners were Ryal Miller, Miller’s wife Marye and Duane Kidder. Kidder’s nephew James (Jim) Knoepfler joined the company (known as Ryal Miller-Kidder Company since 1937) in 1952 and was named secretary-treasurer in 1958. Following Ryal Miller’s death in 1963, Knoepfler added the duties of sales manager and general manager. The firm changed its name to Kidder-Knoepfler Company in 1965. Since both Miller and Kidder were childless, leadership of the company eventually passed completely to Jim Knoepfler and his descendants.
