Programs & Projects

The Research Center maintains special projects in which the community can be involved.

  • For this ongoing project, volunteers interview local people to obtain information about Sioux City’s history.

  • The George Newman Negative Identification project depends on volunteers to help to identify over 11,000 photographic images taken by the Sioux City Journal photographer, George Newman in the 1940s and 1950s.

  • Research Center staff and volunteers give a number of workshops and presentations on Sioux City history. Visit the What’s Happening? page for details of our programs.

  • A variety of presentations are available both on- and off-site for community groups. Download the list of topics available for Community Outreach Presentations here.

For questions or to schedule a presentation, call or email the Museum Research Center.
