Calvary Cemetery Walking Tour
Founded in 1870, Calvary Cemetery is Sioux City’s second oldest and only Catholic cemetery. Some notable figures buried here include department store founder T. S. Martin, rock star Tommy Bolin, Community House founder Mary Treglia, and four bishops of the Sioux City Diocese.
History at High Noon: Sioux City’s Bridges and Viaducts 1865-Present
Located at a point where the Big Sioux River, Floyd River and Perry Creek join the Missouri; Sioux City has depended on a network of bridges to cross its waterways since its earliest days. Matt Anderson, Curator of History, will give a photographic overview of these impressive structures through the years.
Siouxland Big Give
The 5th Annual Siouxland Big Give is October 4, 2022. The Siouxland Community Foundation will be hosting this 24-hour giving day at local Hy-Vee stores in the Sioux City area. Online giving opens September 20.

Ever since 1872 public utility companies have utilized ever-changing technology to provide power for Sioux City homes and businesses. In this photographic presentation, Archival Records Clerk Haley Aguirre will discuss the histories of these power companies, the power plants that they built, and how they worked to meet the energy needs of Sioux Cityans over the years.
