Society of Animal Artists showcases global talent in 'Art and the Animal' exhibit
SIOUX CITY -- More than 100 artworks depicting animal species were individually shipped to the Sioux City Public Museum, where they now hang on walls and are displayed in glass cases.
Over a roughly three-week period, a life-like graphite drawing of African elephants, bronze sculpture of an octopus and black-capped chickadees cut from paper arrived for Matt Anderson to unbox and unwrap in preparation for the Aug. 31 opening of the Society of Animal Artists 64th annual exhibition: "Art and the Animal," which runs through Nov. 30.
